Remembering Christ's Birth in Prayer
Rev. Kathy Fisher Letter 12-20 – 12-31 2020
Merry Christmas, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
This time of year is a wonderful reminder of hope. For Christians, our hope comes from God’s fulfilled promise of a Savior as we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Because of Christmas, we not only celebrate the completed work of Christ, but we also celebrate the hope we have in Christ for the days to come. God is faithful and will fulfill every promise which has been made. I hope you will take some time to meditate on the promises of God this season as we give testimony to the world by ending this difficult year with our hope in Christ Jesus!
I would like to share a beautiful Christmas Prayer written by Robert Louis Stevenson.
O God, our Loving Father,
Help us rightly to remember the birth of Jesus,
That we may share in the song of the angels,
The gladness of the shepherds, and the worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate,
And open the door of love all over the world.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing that Christ brings,
And teach us to be merry with clear hearts.
May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children
And the Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
Forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake.
May God richly bless you today with the assurance of our hope in Christ. May God fill your hearts with praise and rejoicing over what God has accomplished and is going to accomplish. You are loved by God. Live this day with that incredible assurance.
With Love and Christmas Blessings,
